East2West
Classic Rock and Blues Band
Tucson, Arizona

East2West CD Information
Twice in the past, East2West
recorded cover songs for promotional packages. The resulting CD was
meant for club owners and resorts. Unlike a lot of promotional CDs,
this CD contains full songs, not snippets. The CD spotlights resort
and blues/rock club music. It was never meant to be a finished, polished
recording for the public. However, we discovered many E2W fans liked
the CD - and requests for it started pouring in. So, every once in a
while, we give away a few at gigs. We can't legally sell them - because
of copyright issues - so we give them away.
This music was NOT recorded
in a studio. It was recorded in 2 different living rooms with us playing
"live" - no overdubs. We just counted off, and started playing.
We hoped to show club owners what we actually sounded like.
The first session was recorded in Randy Brown's living room on a cassette
player(!) We set the dining room up like a recording studio and tried
to employ good recording techniques. We were pleasantly surprised by
the quality of the sound.
Randy Brown was E2W's 1st keyboard player. He is really, really good!
However, he decided he didn't want to get into the grind of performing
in clubs and stepped aside. His 'stepping aside' was Tucson's loss.
Fred Coy - E2W's wonderful 1st bassist - provided a rich bass line which
really complemented the band.

The second session was recorded a year or two later in Mike's living
room using a DAT machine. The DAT machine records on a VHS tape for
a clearer, more professional sound. During this session, Fred's bass
really comes through nicely. Everything is just clearer.
Karl Moeller became the 2nd East2West keyboardist. Karl is a wonderful
piano/B3 player. Which you can plainly hear on this CD. Anyone who saw
this band with Karl and Fred Coy on bass saw a great band! We had some
great performances all over Tucson.

Now we've added The Doctor
Of Funk - Doc Peterson on bass. And the great Chuck Morrow on keyboards.
This new version of East2West is itching to get into a studio (or a
living room) and record some music. But in the meantime - Joe recorded
us one night at Westward Look Resort with a video recorder set on Doc's
bass amp. It was meant for Joe's personal use, but it came out kinda
cool. The sound could obviously be better. But you can still feel the
energy. So we thought we'd throw it on the CD.
